The best Chinese restaurant I have been in Amsterdam so far. Staff was kind and service were excellent. Food was nice and authentic. Especially potato salad was very interesting and tasty. I recommend this restaurant if you like Chinese food but be aware it is quite pricey.

Never had such an experience, please avoid this „restaurant“ as a tourist...it’s really a joke, but just check my pictures with the price (each of the dishes around 9€ !!!). Yes amsterdam is expensive, but this is just a tourist trap. I’m pretty sure the most of the ratings are from the „Chinese friends“ of them.

Because of all these amazing reviews, we ordered online to be delivered at home. First: one hour too late. Secondenly, we order three dishes, fried rice, mix of meats and a fish dish. We paid more than 60 euros, for super bad, cold a very, very expensive food for the quality that you get. My meat was horrible and chewy, dried and like it was from a day before. The fried rice..... ; the fish okay. You dont even get rice or anything else with the dishes. Dissapointent and i feel like they stole my money.....Really

Questions & Answers

Thanks for your help everyone. I did call the restaurant, but the person who answered was not knowledgable about gluten-free diets or suitable items on the menu for people with food allergies. We decided to try it anyway because you can always get steamed or stir-fry veggies and tofu. Fortunately, our server was very knowledgable about the cuisine and the preparation methods, so we felt comfortable ordering. We had omnivores, pescetarians, and a vegan with a gluten allergy. We all found something on the menu we could eat and (mostly) enjoy. Unfortunately, although the lemongrass curry soup was a good option for a vegan gluten-free diet, it wasn't very flavorful and needed a fair amount of salt to bring out any flavor that was there. Given the high prevalenace of food allergies and high demand for delicious vegan dishes, hopefully Hoshun will accommodate special diets with more diverse offerings in the near future.
